Fleet BID Ballot results

The BID ballot results have been received and it’s a resounding YES.  Fleet is to become a Business Improvement District. Summary of the results: Voter turnout: 126 (37% turnout) Votes in favour: 87 (69%) The aggregate rateable value of those voting yes: 64% The BID Ballot was conducted by The Electoral Reform Service on behalf of Hart District Council and the formal notification can be found here. Here are some projects delivered by BIDs around the UK Parking Great Yarmouth introduced a ‘First Hour Free’ parking initiative which increased footfall by 2.6%. Falmouth provided free parking in February with 70% businesses seeing an upturn in trade. Newcastle introduced ‘Alive after 5’ with free parking, early evening offers, late night opening and events generating £106m in sales and 1.9m visitors in a 12 month period.
