Families can again enjoy Santa’s Post Office courtesy of the business community in Fleet through the Fleet Business Improvement District.

Santa’s Post Office opened in the Hart Shopping Centre on Saturday 23rd November and over 600 children have already visited the enchanting Post Office to meet the Christmas elves and write their letter to Santa. Children can post their letters in the special Post Box and watch its magical journey to Lapland.

Last year one delighted parent commented, “We went in today with my two kids and they loved it! Both my husband and I were so impressed and felt incredibly lucky to have something so special in Fleet. A real testament to a wonderful community. A massive Thank you to Fleet BID for putting something so special together that local families can enjoy!.”

There will be a special visit from Santa on Thursday 12th December when there will be a free meet and greet session from 3pm to 5.30pm. Fans of Eagle Radio can also see Adam Morris who will be bringing their Christmas tour to Fleet and broadcasting from Santa’s Post Office on Thursday 19th December from 9am to 1pm.

There will be an exclusive Autism Friendly Fleet session on Sunday 22nd December from 10am to midday.

Fleet BID has also provided businesses in Fleet with organic cotton shopper bags, with the logo Shop in Fleet, it means a great deal! to encourage people to support our local high street businesses and help reduce the use of single use plastic bags. There is also a competition for people to win £100 to spend in Fleet.

Volunteers from Hart Voluntary Action are manning the Post Office, helping them to raise awareness of the great work they do in our local community.

Bruce Bulgin, Chair of Fleet BID said “We are very excited to bring these free activities back to Fleet this Christmas, allowing families to enjoy Santa’s Post Office support our retailers in the run up to Christmas. We are lucky to have such a fabulous range of committed small business owners who open their doors every day to offer customers unique services and products, with local staff to provide help and advice. Our customer service survey earlier this year showed visitors to Fleet can enjoy a truly personal service that is missing on so many bigger high streets. The High Street is facing many challenges right now and our mission is to support businesses in Fleet with a number of activities to improve the trading environment and this is a great opportunity for people to show their support for local businesses which are the lifeblood of our community.”
