The BID ballot results have been received and it’s a resounding YES. Fleet is to become a Business Improvement District.
Summary of the results:
- Voter turnout: 126 (37% turnout)
- Votes in favour: 87 (69%)
- The aggregate rateable value of those voting yes: 64%
The BID Ballot was conducted by The Electoral Reform Service on behalf of Hart District Council and the formal notification can be found here.
What happens next?
We will now need to form the new BID Company and appoint the Directors to the Board. The Fleet Business Forum will act as the interim company but the first action will be to call an Annual General Meeting and invite every business in the BID area to attend. Look out for the date as it will be your chance to really get involved and influence the future of your town!
