  • Chamber of Solutions – International Tue, 19 January 2021

This FREE Chamber of Solutions event takes a close look at the many needs of businesses as we pass the transition deadline and move into the new trading context, as the United Kingdom leaves the EU’s Single Market and Customs Union.

Whether we have an FTA with our EU partners or not there is much for all globally-trading businesses to understand and to inform their future trading prospects. Several temporarily-staged easings of the implementation of changes around border controls, customs declarations and processes have been announced by Government, however clarity, advice and sharing insights may still be needed to ensure successful post-Brexit trading arrangements.

  • Building Resilience in your Business – Wed, 20 January 2021

Recent events have proven to us that unexpected events can take the world by surprise.

So how as a business owner can you build resilience in your business. This could be to prepare for the unexpected:

• The unexpected death or illness of shareholders, key people

• Product lines or revenue streams that no longer deliver the same return

• Individuals leaving/being poached by competitors or you needing to release members of the team but not wanting to lose the culture you’ve created

• Managing personal income and cash flow in the business can be more challenging than ever before

• Difficult to predict what’s going to happen and the impact this may have on your business

This session will focus on how you can build resilience in your business. This could be about protecting it against unexpected events or putting ‘shock absorbers’ in your business model to help manage unexpected events.

  • Getting ‘Back to Business’: Restructure debt; restore businesses; save job – Thu, 16 February 2021

This webinar explains how restructuring and insolvency procedures can help with financial recovery, and how to seek early advice when experiencing financial distress.

In the current climate, many directors and business owners will unfortunately be facing possible insolvency for the first time. However, failures can be averted if advice is taken early enough.

Importantly, insolvency and restructuring processes do not necessarily mean the end of a business and can often facilitate business rescue, particularly if the advice is taken before cash runs out and there is an opportunity to speak to creditors to agree a restructure of the business. In recent months, there has also been a series of significant temporary and permanent legislative changes to the UK’s insolvency and restructuring framework which will help with business rescue.

This webinar, produced in partnership with R3, the trade association for the insolvency and restructuring profession, provides an overview of the key restructuring and insolvency procedures and how they can help; explains what an insolvency practitioner does, how to tell if someone is qualified and regulated; and provides an opportunity for members to ask questions of an insolvency and restructuring expert.

Hosted by Garry Lee of R3.
