On 24th September the NHS will launch their COVID-19 app
The app can be used to check in at venues displaying the NHS QR code and get alerts if you have visited a venue where you may have come into contact with coronavirus. Users will also get alerts if they have been near other users who have tested positive for coronavirus. The app will also enable people to book tests, get results and see the level of coronavirus in their area.
You can download the app from Google Play or the App Store from 24th September.
For businesses
From 24th September businesses in the following sectors will have a legal requirement to displaying the NHS QR code posters to support the NHS COVID-19 app:
• hospitality;
• leisure and tourism;
• close contact services;
• places of worship; and
• local authority venues
You can create your personalised QR poster for people to scan and check in here: https://www.gov.uk/create-coronavirus-qr-poster
To complete the form you will need your email address and the address of your business. If you have more than one business premises will need a separate QR code for each location.
When customers visit you
One member from each party visiting your venue will need to scan the app to register. If people do not have the app you will still have to collect data manually or as you did prior to the app being launched.
