Hart District Council pays first business rates relief grants

First grant payments to go out to Hart businesses

Hart District Council will be issuing grant payments to more than 400 businesses this week, totalling £5.5 million.

The application process opened last week. Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sector are eligible for grants of £10,000 and £25,000 and there is a £10,000 payment for small businesses to meet their ongoing costs.

Councillor David Neighbour, Leader of Hart District Council, said: “We have been working extremely hard to ensure our business community is fully supported at this very difficult time. I am delighted with the positive way council staff have responded to this challenge and we will continue to process every application as soon as possible.

“It is also important to highlight that for those businesses which do not qualify for funding under these schemes, they can still access information, advice and guidance on the full range of support currently available from other sources by visiting the council’s dedicated COVID-19 webpage.”
