Cantine opened in Fleet on 3 February, a dog friendly cafe offering a warm welcome, drinks and snacks as well for dogs as well as their owners.
Founded by Ali and Dave, who own two beautiful dogs, Belle and Buddy, and have put their corporate careers behind them to start a business with a difference. This dog friendly cafe will certainly be a great addition to the town.
When we visited the café was busy with people enjoying a selection of teas, fresh coffee and home made cakes, including gluten free options. There are snacks for dogs too, including the popular Puppicino treat as well as lots of fresh water available. The dogs make for a very relaxing atmosphere and, of course, you don’t have to bring a dog to enjoy the cafe.
As you would expect from a dog friendly café it is very welcoming with the walls decorated with artwork from local artists, free WiFi and a discount card
It was also great to see local businesses popping in to say hi and welcoming them as a new business in the town.
There are also plans for a lunch menu with paninis and even hot dogs as well as breakfast baps.
Limiting their impact on the environment is also really important to Ali and Dave with packaging by Vegware made from plants, through to sorting rubbish in compost and recycling as much as possible.
Cantine, Fleet’s dog friendly cafe can be found at 285 Fleet Road with the nearest car parks Gurkha Square and Victoria Road where you can park for up to 2 hours for £1.
Cantine is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays
