Fleet supermarkets support volunteering effort

Waitrose Van Delivery Fleet Hampshire

Hart District Council have said a huge thank you to Waitrose stores in Yateley and Fleet for delivering £1,000 worth of food to be used in food parcels for the extremely vulnerable.

The food is being packed into parcels and delivered by Hart District Council’s staff and volunteers to the most vulnerable in our communities, including those who have received letters from the NHS and been told to remain home and ‘shield’ themselves for twelve weeks.

Cllr David Neighbour, Leader Hart District Council said: “I would like to thank all those who have contributed to this initiative to support our most vulnerable residents. We had an overwhelming response to our appeal for volunteers and are most grateful to Waitrose, Tescos and Morrisons who are all supporting and serving our community in many ways.

Everyone is pulling together and working hard to ensure that the right support is available to those who need it most.”

If you have received a letter from the NHS identifying you as extremely vulnerable and have yet to register, please do so here https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable and you can have a basic parcel of food delivered to your door.
