Could this be the end of free on street parking in Fleet?

  Hampshire County Council have approved proposals relating to on-street parking to ensure services are delivered consistently across the county and ‘on a full cost recovery basis’. This means that that the way services are currently provided could change including the introduction of charges for on-street parking. This could include parking on Fleet Road as well as surrounding residential roads where on street parking is currently free for a limited time. What does the 2018 budget mean for business?

The 2018 budget delivered by Chancellor Philip Hammond included several measures designed to help business including: • The annual investment allowance will be increased from £200,000 to £1m for two years. • The contribution of small companies to apprenticeship levy to be reduced from 10% to 5%. • Business rates bills for firms with a rateable value of £51,000 or less to be cut by third over two years as part of £900m business rates relief package. The British Retail Consortium have reported that customer theft remains the single biggest component of retail crime, accounting for 83% of all incidents by volume and 56% of the total direct cost of retail crime.
