Hart District Council have recently announced a scheme to provide a discount to businesses who have seen an increase in their business rates in the April 2017 revaluation. Businesses with a rateable value of under £100,000, who have two or fewer business premises, are in certain sectors are eligible for relief.
Relief is available as follows:
- Rateable value up to £20,000: 15% relief
- Rateable value from £20,000 to £50,000: 10% relief
- Rateable value from £50,000 to £10,000: 5% relief
Hart District Council have recently written to the businesses they believe are eligible. If you have received a letter and form, make sure you complete the form in full and return to Hart District Council.
This is discretionary scheme and available on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis, so if you think you are eligible, make sure you return the letter to Hart District Council asap.
